The Hoopa Valley Housing Authority is accepting applications to fulfill the following vacant position:

Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) Services Coordinator
This position is Grant Funded Full Time, Regular, Benefits, Mid-Level, and Non-Exempt: $41,600 - $52,000/YR. The Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Services Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the development and implementation of a ROSS program, which includes working with the HVHA staff, Tribal Departments, and outside services providers to coordinate supportive services and other resident empowerment activities designed to help residents attain greater self-sufficiency, primarily focusing on the improvement of financial literacy and achieve homeownership. These services should enable participating families to increase earned income, reduce or eliminate the need for assistance, make progress toward achieving economic independence and house self-sufficiency, or, in the case of elderly or disabled residents, help improve living conditions and enable residents to age-in-place. This position is funded by a three-year grant from HUD which is eligible to renew every three years. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Housing Management, Human/Social Services or related field preferred; or
  2. Associate degree in related field such as Social Services, Human Services, Business Administration or related area with five (5) years of relevant experience preferred;
  3. Two (2) years experience in case management and coaching to clients or related work.
  4. Knowledge of mortgage financing preferred;
  5. Knowledge of local, Tribal, and federal benefits available to low-income families, including youth, senior citizens, and/or people with disabilities.
  6. Experience in recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies for clients and partners/service providers; and
  7. Experience in developing effective communication strategies to reach low-income youth, adults, senior citizen and person with disabilities.
  8. Must possess a High School Diploma and/or GED.
  9. Must possess a Valid CA Driver's License and be insurable.
  10. Subject to full background check including fingerprints according to Title 30-A
